ENGLAND CRUSH PAKISTAN BY AN INNINGS 103 RUNS IN 1ST TEST AT HEADINGLEY.


England started the 3-match series with a dominant win, beating Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs inside 3 days at Headingley. 



Rain and England’s pace attack made it a tough Test for Pakistan.

  Day 1: England Bowl Pakistan Out for 171

   England won the toss and put Pakistan in. 

 Ollie Robinson 5/51 and  Josh Tongue 5/46 shared all 10 wickets.

Pakistan were bowled out for  171. in 48.1 overs. Abdullah Shafique 61  was the top scorer.

England replied strongly and finished the day on 112/2. Joe Root 37.


   Day 2: Brook 91 Leads England to 366/8

          Play started late due to rain. 

 Harry Brook 91 off 93,  Jordan Cox 73 , Joe Root 66,  and Dan Lawrence 51 all scored fifties as England piled on the runs.

Ali Usman took his maiden Test 5-wicket haul 5/92* for Pakistan.

England declared on 366/8, leading by 195 runs.


       Day 3: Pakistan Collapse for 135

Forced to follow-on, Pakistan collapsed again to 135 all out in 37.3 overs.

  Mohammad Rizwan 41 top-scored.

Robinson took 3 more to finish with 8 in the match. Archer and Tongue also chipped in.

England won by an innings and 103 runs.

2. Harry Brook:     91. Continues to dominate Pakistan with an average over 85 vs them
